Amanda is a 30 something wife, mother, yoga teacher and life long learner. She has overcome many ups and downs in life but attempts to find the joy in all situations. She was diagnosed with severe depression in her 20s and general anxiety disorder a short time later, although the anxiety likely started as a child and the depression as a teen. Living with mental illness is a hard road that is anything but a straight line. Yoga, meditation and mindfulness are 3 components that are absolute requirements for getting through each day. Amanda became a RYT-200 yoga teacher in 2013, an 85 hour RPYT (Prenatal) yoga teacher in 2014 and has accumulated more than 120 hours of yin and mindfulness training. She now has the privilege of assisting in 200 hour trainings, and co-leading prenatal and yin trainings. She is currently working toward her RYT-300 certification. Fun facts about Amanda: she can rarely be serious for longer than 10 minutes, she knows every word to the Thong Song, she sleeps with a mountain of pillows, and she regularly has dance parties with her children and, if she can swindle him into it, her husband too.
